I’m an Aussie girl living in beautiful Leipzig, Germany with my hubby, our daughter and a few words of German. I’m a knitter and a sewer. I love Jesus. I like to cook elaborate meals using obscure ingredients. I love to drink tea, but only Earl Grey. I love to scour second hand shops, Etsy and ebay. At the end of the day I love to lounge around with my hubby and a little glass of red. Please take a look at my Etsy shop, MavisandFrank, where I sell handmade jewelry based on timeless fabrics by Liberty of London.

    Hi Mavis!
I happened upon your blog when I clicked my tag, “bunting”. I can’t tell you how excited I was when I saw your blog pop up! For the past many months I was wondering why I ever chose wordpress as my blog platform when all the other crafty blogs were on blogspot. It’s harder to form community when your on another platform. But I couldn’t give up my wordpress blog…I love it too much! ๐Ÿ™‚ Been going for a year now! Plus, it’s so much more clean cut than blogspot!

Anyway, seeing yours was such a breath of fresh air for me. Love your blog, and LOVE your craft! I need to get one of those darling bracelets you make in the very near future! I recently opened an etsy shop for children’s clothes, but have not listed anything yet. I guess I’m a little nervous, and want everything to be perfect…

Also, what a blessing that you love Jesus! I love Him too.

blessings from your fellow wordpress friend,

    susan, maryland, usa
p.s. I visited Stuttgart back in 2001…lovely city! hope you are having a great time..

Thanks so much for your lovely comment Susan! I know what you mean about the blogging, but hey, you found me! Best of luck for your new Etsy shop. It’s a continual battle to have everything looking perfect, you never really get there. It’s the one thing Etsy sellers keep saying – your photos can never be too good! But I guess it’s a matter of practice. Hope everything goes well, lovely to hear from you.

    Hi Ally,

I remember bumping into your mum about a year ago (with your beautiful baby girl) in Camden. Both were sporting your creations (dont worry your mum had the fabric bead necklace on, not the bloomers!). Your creations are lovely. It has taken me all this time to find you again (not knowing your married name and not able to remember your business name-only that it was your grandparents names-which wasnt really any help for me). So now you are in Germay! The adventure your life has taken… I would love to get in contact with you again. If you have a spare moment please drop me an Email on the return address. Sorry if this is not the place to send this sort of message.

P.S: Not sure if you remember that Joe and I have a 4 year old (Ava) and have recently had another beautiful girl who we call Allie!!

Helloooooo Ally and family! here’s some blue house love flying to you all!! I’d forgotten all about your blog until Kevin sent me a link just now and it is the most beautiful thing I have seen in a long long time… It is so beautiful! Kevin’s very much looking forward to seeing you all this afternoon! Congratulations on your new little man! They are both perfection. I am very jealous I don’t get to play with them both this weekend.
Your pictures from your special England trip are just idyllic.
Mum and i will be in Europe soon to visit Kevin, and we were hoping to pop over to Germany one day.. we had actually talked about Leipzig at one point! It looks like such a beautiful town. We might make it there!
Hope you are all well… and maybe we can see you at some point in the near future? ๐Ÿ™‚
love Clare (and hello’s from the rest of the blue house girls!)
