Keep Right

It’s official. Tony and I are the proud owners of a 1998 Volkswagon Polo, dark blue (for the female readers). The deal was struck in the Aldi car park. Zeki, the seller, was a big fan of Australia and couldn’t wait to visit. Huddled in his car while the temperature hovered around -1c, neither could we. Zeki didn’t speak much English, so Google Translator was used to work out the finer details as an iphone passed between us. Unfortunately, on its first day in Botnang, our new car wound up looking like this

whilst our driveway looked like this

Undeterred, Tony bravely steered it down the right hand side of Furtwänglerstrasse on its maiden voyage to Baby One (Baby Zone without the Z). Our vessel is now equipped with the safest of Baby-Autositzes, ready for adventures of all kinds around Europe. All I can say is yes, we do have Versicherungen (insurance).

    Loving your blog, Ally!
Good choice of car, I think. Hope you have many happy miles! (that should be kilometres!)

I have passed on your blog site to Christian and Kristy.
I told them how fantastic it was.

Frau….., can’t remember her name, sounds wonderful! So nice to see a friendly face and as you say, have someone who cares.

    Keep blogging!
    love Gerri..xx

Thanks Gerri, I’m sure we’ll have some happy miles. I haven’t been brave enough to drive yet, maybe I’ll practice in the car park!

        Yes, it takes some courage!
I remember, braving it, when we lived in Canada, (also on other side of road and lots of snow!) and felt sooo good when I did!
Just give yourself some time and take things slowly, slowly.
        love Gerri..x
